Law Enforcement & Official Requests

Information for competent law-enforcement, judicial and regulatory authorities.

1. Purpose of this Page

This page provides an administrative point of reference for competent authorities seeking information concerning this Website or its Services.

It does not replace formal channels of service required by applicable national or European Union law. Where a decision or order must be addressed to a designated establishment, legal representative, central authority or other legally specified addressee, the applicable formal procedure must be used.

2. Official Administrative Contact

For preliminary administrative correspondence concerning a lawful request, competent authorities may use the local address displayed below:

Sending a message to this address does not by itself constitute legally valid service where a particular legal instrument requires another channel, addressee, certificate, authentication method or form.

3. Information to Include

To enable an efficient initial assessment, an official request should, where applicable, clearly identify:

  • the requesting authority and responsible officer;
  • official contact details and a case, file or reference number;
  • the legal basis and type of request or order;
  • the specific service, account, telephone number, transaction or other identifier concerned;
  • the categories of data requested and the relevant time period;
  • any applicable deadline or legally defined emergency status; and
  • the required method for secure return or transmission of information.

Requests should be specific and proportionate. Authorities should avoid sending passwords, authentication secrets or personal data that is unnecessary for identifying and processing the request.

4. Preservation Requests

Where a valid preservation request or order applies, specified data that is available at the time of receipt may be preserved in accordance with the applicable legal instrument.

Where Regulation (EU) 2023/1543 applies to a European Preservation Order Certificate, the preservation period is governed by that Regulation, including the applicable 60-day period and any lawful extension. The electronic-evidence framework does not itself create a general obligation to retain all user data in anticipation of future requests.

5. Production and Disclosure

Data is disclosed only where there is an appropriate legal basis and the request is valid and applicable to the service provider. Depending on the legal instrument, the requested information may include subscriber data, traffic or technical data, transaction-related information or content data that is lawfully available.

The availability of a category of data depends on the Service used, technical architecture, applicable retention practices and whether the data exists or is otherwise processed when the valid request is received.

6. Confidentiality and User Notice

Official requests and preserved or produced data are handled in accordance with applicable confidentiality, security and data-protection requirements.

A User may not be notified about a request where notification is prohibited by law, restricted by a competent authority, or could prejudice an investigation or legal process.

7. Emergency Matters

If applicable law provides a specific emergency procedure, the requesting authority should clearly state the emergency basis, legal authority, deadline and immediate risk involved. The local administrative address on this page is not a substitute for any mandatory emergency or formal service channel.
